Madeline Frates

Madeline Frates, 58, of Taunton, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024. She was the lifelong partner of Stephen Tavares.

Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of Anthony R. Frates and the late Charlotte (DeCosta) Frates.

She was raised in Fall River and moved to Taunton late in her teenage years and continued to make her home in Taunton while she raised her son. As a child she enjoyed taking dance and gymnastics classes.

Madeline was an avid fan of the Boston Bruins and various television series. She loved all animals, especially her cat Bubba. She loved her family, especially her grandson who was the light of her life. A very loyal person with a great sense of humor, she was also known to be a little feisty and very protective of her family members.

Miss Frates leaves her son, Nevin Frates and his wife Stefanie of Taunton; her grandson, Benjamin Frates; her siblings, Tracey Rodrigues and her husband Mike of Fall River, Jason Frates of Taunton, Taylor Frates of Fall River, and Billy Ohler of Taunton; and several nieces and nephews.

To honor her family's wishes, all funeral services and interment were privately held.
