Lorraine P. Raposa (Dupont) 77, of East Taunton, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Morton Hospital. She was the loving wife of 58 years to Daniel J. Raposa.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Rose (Fontes) Dupont.
Lorraine was a 1962 graduate of the first graduating class of Bridgewater-Raynham High School. She later attended the Burdett College of Business & Shorthand in Boston, which is known now as Katherine Gibbs.
She worked as a rural letter carrier in East Taunton with the United States Postal Service for 39 years.
Mrs. Raposa enjoyed bowling with her husband Dan and following bands to watch them play.
Besides her husband, she leaves her children, Michael J. Raposa, of St. Petersburg, FL, Susan M. Dykas, and her husband, James “Jim”, of Taunton, Thomas D. Raposa, of East Taunton, and Nancy E. Carreiro, and her husband, John, of East Taunton; a sister, Rose Marie Muir, of Raynham; her loving grandchildren, John Thomas Carreiro, Lauren Anelia Dykas, Nicholas Paul Ulianelli, Jacob Joseph Carreiro, and Ryan James Dykas; a great grandson, Jack Daniel Carreiro; and is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and godchildren. She was the sister of the late Joseph Dupont, Jr., Irene Keenan, and Margaret Valadao.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Lorraine’s family on Saturday, January 8, 2022 , from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, in the Sowiecki-Snyder Home for Funerals, 69 West Britannia Street, Taunton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, in the Holy Family Parish, 372 Middleboro Avenue, East Taunton (all guests are asked to meet directly at church)
Interment will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
