Hilary James Bury

Hilary J. Bury , age 65, of Taunton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at his home.

Born in Taunton, MA, he was the son of Lillian V. (Randolph) Bury, of Taunton, and the late Hilary J. Bury.

He worked as a car dealer/mechanic at his shop, Route 28 Auto Works in Middleboro for many years before semi retiring. Prior to that he was employed as a Superintendent of the Motor Vehicle Division for the City of Taunton for 16 years.

Hilary enjoyed his yearly hunting trip to Maine with his buddies. But most of all cars were his passion.

Besides his mother, he leaves his two children, Katie Bury of Brewster, MA and Hilary J. Bury, II, of Taunton; and a sister, Jeanne Frank.

His funeral will be held on Saturday , September 3, 2016 at 8:45 am, from the Sowiecki Funeral Home, 69 West Britannia Street, Taunton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, in the Holy Rosary Church, 80 Bay Street, Taunton, to which relatives and friends are invited. Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Taunton. Visiting hours, Friday , September 2, 2016, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, in the funeral home.
