Henry Martyniak

Henry Martyniak , age 94, of Taunton, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at his home.
Born in Taunton, he was a son of the late Stefan and Anna (Ducznski) Martyniak.
A lifelong resident of Taunton, he served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1942-1945 during World War II. Upon his discharge from the Army, he played minor league baseball for the Owensboro Oilers in 1946 and for the Pawtucket Slaters in 1947. He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox.
Henry leaves his two sister in law’s, Stephanie (Bury) Martyniak and Jeannette (Martyniak) Gaffney ; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John, Joseph and Walter Martyniak.
According to his family's wishes, Henry's funeral services and burial will be private. Visiting hours will be respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations to Saint Vincent de Paul Society, 142 Washington Street, Taunton, MA 02780 in his memory would be appreciated.
