Frank A. Gay, Jr ., age 75, of Middleboro, formerly of Taunton, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Oakhill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Middleboro.
Born and raised in Taunton, he was the son of the late Frank A. and Katherine (Kmiec) Gay.
He served his country proudly in the United States Marines Corps during the Vietnam War.
Frank was employed as a Mental Health Worker for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at Taunton State Hospital for many years before retiring.
An amazing, loving, and thoughtful person who will be remembered by his family and friends for his sense of humor and funny personality. Frank enjoyed bowling, clamming in Marion, watching sports, and having fun at the casinos.
Mr. Gay is survived by his children, Frank A. Gay, III of Taunton, Susan A. Gay of Taunton, Nancy Stavrou of Taunton, and Michele Spence of Clarksville, TN; five grandchildren, Nevin Campbell, Nicholas Navarro, Ryan Stavrou, Taylor, Stavrou, and Christian Spence; and one great-granddaughter, Ellie Navarro. He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Elaine Lopes, Joanne Costa, and Anita Gay.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to visit with Frank’s family on Sunday , October 15, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Sowiecki-Snyder Home for Funerals, 69 West Britannia Street, Taunton.
His funeral will be held on Monday , October 16, 2023, at 8:45 am, at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am, in Holy Rosary Church, 80 Bay Street, Taunton. Interment military honors will be held in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s memory can be made to Fidelis Hospice, 25 Railroad Square, Suite 501, Haverhill, MA 01832.
